Medicals
Class 2 Medicals
ESMS provides CAA-approved Class 2 medical examinations for pilots, including initial assessments, renewals and revalidation's.
Initial Medical
A Class 2 Initial Medical includes a full review of medical history, a comprehensive clinical examination, ECG, urine test and haemoglobin blood test (if indicated). Applicants must provide a CAA Form 162 Ophthalmology Report completed within the last two years.
Revalidation / Renewal
Revalidation and renewal appointments ensure ongoing compliance with CAA standards. ECGs are required at the first medical, at age 40, and from age 50 every two years thereafter, or sooner if clinically indicated.
Medical Validity
Class 2 medical certificate validity depends on age:
-
Under 40: 5 years (not beyond age 42)
-
Age 40 – 49: 2 years (not beyond age 51)
-
Age 50+: 1 year
Decrease in Medical Fitness
Pilots must seek advice if they experience changes in health or begin medication that may affect flight safety. ESMS can provide aviation medical consultations and arrange rapid referral to private specialists when required.
Medicals
LAPL Medicals
LAPL medicals are usually completed by a GP; however, referral to an AME may be required for complex medical conditions. Certificate validity is five years for applicants under 40 and two years for those aged 40 and over.

Medicals
Cabin Crew Medicals
ESMS offers CAA-compliant Cabin Crew medical assessments, including medical history review, height and weight measurement, vision and hearing testing, chest and abdominal examination, and mobility assessment. Colour vision testing is required for initial assessments, and ECGs may be indicated for applicants aged 40 and over.
